Garret Fitzpatrick is a recognized leader in exploration and innovation and an inspiring public speaker. He has given talks and presentations about a wide array of topics, including the search for life in the universe, how systems thinking and systems engineering can help solve the most complex problems facing humanity, servant leadership, the quest to create the first movies of black holes using an Earth-sized telescope, preserving the Book of Life through the creation of a lunar biorepository, how we landed on the moon and why we haven’t been back, hydrothermal vents on Earth and Europa, NASA missions, STEM education, and generational differences in the workplace. His audiences have included leadership teams at NASA, Shell, the Pentagon, the U.S. Naval Academy, and Disney Imagineering. 

In 2023, as a volunteer fundraiser for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Garret created and hosted the inaugural Grit and Gumption Gathering, a TED-style inspirational speaking event about stories of people who have redefined impossible through grit and gumption. As a travel writer, Garret has had extensive travel experience throughout Europe and Asia. He's written a travel memoir about his 13,000-mile overland journey from Moscow to Singapore. He also spent a summer reporting about the impact of India's space program on improving economic disparity and the quality of life in India while living in Bangalore.
