“If We Can Land on the Moon...” welcome remarks from the inaugural Grit and Gumption Gathering.

Garret Fitzpatrick is a recognized leader in exploration and innovation and an inspiring public speaker. He has given talks and presentations about many topics including courage, space & ocean exploration, innovation models, systems thinking, systems engineering, servant leadership, launch/entry space suits, hydrothermal vents on Earth and Europa, NASA missions, STEM education and generational differences in the workplace. In 2023, as a volunteer fundraiser for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Garret created and hosted the inaugural Grit and Gumption Gathering, a TED-style inspirational speaking event about stories of people who have redefined impossible through grit and gumption. For videos from that event, go here.

As a travel writer, Fitzpatrick has had extensive travel experience throughout Europe and Asia. He's currently completing a travel memoir of his 13,000-mile overland journey from Moscow to Singapore. He also spent the 2012 summer reporting about the impact of India's space program on improving economic disparity and the quality of life in India while living in Bangalore.
