Garret is an enthusiastic public speaker and passionate advocate for exploration and multigenerational leadership. He has given presentations about topics including space & ocean exploration, launch/entry space suits, hydrothermal vents on Earth and Europa, NASA missions, STEM education and generational differences in the workplace. His audiences have included management teams at NASA, the Pentagon, U.S. Naval Academy and Disney Imagineering. 

As a travel writer, Garret has had extensive travel experience throughout Europe and Asia. He's currently completing a creative nonfiction account of his 14,000-mile overland journey from Moscow to Singapore. Garret also spent the 2012 summer reporting about the impact of India's space program on improving economic disparity and the quality of life in India while living in Bangalore.
